Sammendrag

Distributions for travel purposes and desired arrival time are key inputs in the transport model Trenklin. In 2016/2017, TØI established generic models that can predict these distributions for all train station pairs in Norway. This report documents a further development of these models, as well as the establishment of a model for predicting the type of day (working day or weekend/holidays) that is integrated in the new travel purpose model. The models are estimated on travel survey data from 2019 and therefore represent a "pre-corona" situation. Key explanatory variables in the model are travel time and index values calculated on zone data (for the travel purpose model) and on commuter statistics (for the 24-hour model). The model is segmented by 2 day-types and 9 travel purposes. The results from the model can be used as input in the Trenklin model.
