Unit Prices for Different Travel Time Components in Private Travel

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has implemented a programme, which implies a broader focus on transport planning across the traditional demarcations between private and public transport. One of the basic premises of such a comprehensive approach is to establish a set of unit prices of different components and factors in both private and public transport. The value of travel time saving is a central unit price to this respect. The Norwegian value of time study is reported in TØI report 379/1997.The current report, which has a more practical viewpoint, is a supplement to the main report of The Norwegian value of time study. The aim with this report is to recommend a set of unit prices for different travel time components, and give some practical guidance in how to use them.
