Norwegian driver training is distinguished by the fact that it has a strong focus on reflection and discussion between traffic teacher and student, based on the students' abilities and needs. The discussions can, for example, concern how friends, family and lifestyle influence the students' driving style and attitudes. This is a student-centred teaching style, where the pedagogical tools are adapted to the skills to be learned, and there is a focus on activating and engaging the students. The learning outcome for students and teachers is particularly influenced by traffic teachers' degree of student-centred teaching style. Such a teaching style also has an impact on learning outcomes after the students have obtained their driving license. The traffic teacher influences the student's driving style the most “today”, followed by family and friends. Traffic teachers have a positive attitude to technological tools in driver training and want to use them in the future. However, few have received training in this, indicating a need for this in the future.
