The impact on climate and environment from the use of Heavy duty Vehicles may be measured from tailpipe emissions. The impact on global warming is calculated from emissions of CO2-eqv and life cycle assessments. The amount and environmental effects from PM (exhaust Particulate Matter) and NOX may be measured and Society’s costs for these emissions are directly related to their weight. The global warming and environmental impacts are low for all alternative technologies for transport and with renewable fuels (energy carriers) used in Norway. Society’s costs for climate effects and environmental impacts are for Heavy duty Vehicles with Euro VI technology, renewable certified fuels and the Norwegian ‟Vegdirektoratets‟ values for the harmful effects low compared with all the other costs for the Vehicle.
