In this report, expected injury severity density is estimated for 6,901 sections of mian road in Norway (about 6,600 km). These sections are sorted in the groups of green, yellow and red according to expected injury severity density. Accident analyses are performed on a sample section, in order to identify those types of accident that make the largest contribution to injury severity density. Potentially effective safety measures are then identified and their expected effects on injury severity density estimated. A method is developed for estimating the effects of road safety measures for injuries of different severities.
