The transport industry is an important source of CO2 emissions. According to Statistics Norway, freight transport (excluding international sea freight) accounts for 40% of the emissions from mobile combustion. Three main themes for further research connected to environment and freight are proposed in this report. The themes are related to 1) technological change in the transport industry, 2) increased efficiency within freight, and 3) enhanced intermodality. The report is issued in electronic version only.
