The existing public transport service in the region (four communities) consists of 20 routes with variable frequencies and low usage. There will be tenders invited for the operation of the network from 2013. The county public transport organization will evaluate a new network structure. This report suggests that the system should offer 6 main routes with high frequency within the same use of resources as present (annual number of vehicle kilometers). In order to reduce travel time it is recommended that the number of bus stops is reduced and that priority measures are introduced at places with delays.
