Proposal to improve transparency in the process of selecting projects for the next National Transport Plan

The purpose of this project has been to contribute to a more systematic use of economic appraisal in the process of selecting investment projects for the National Transport Plan, and to making the whole decision process more transparent. In two different versions, we propose a new document that can follow each candidate project through the project selection process. The document should include a short description of the project and a summary of costs and benefits and non-monetised impacts, as well as tables showing the project’s impact on key performance indicators and national transport policy objectives.
