In the OPTIMA project, efficiency and sustainability optimal transport strategies for 9 European cities have been identified. The project has shown that optimal transport strategies are based on combinations of measures and draw on the synergy between them. Although preliminary general recommen-dations for urban city policy can be drawn from the results, the optimal strategy will also depend on the conditions in each city. The project has demonstrated that the method of optimalisation used is applicable to all cities with a transport model.
