This report presents findings from a survey on wages and working conditions among drivers of Romanian- and Bulgarian-registered trucks. The drivers were recruited at rest areas and truck stops around Oslo. The interviews were conducted by Romanian- and Bulgarian-speaking interviewers from February to June 2018. The survey was conducted according to a survey among the same categories of long-distance transport drivers conducted in Denmark in 2015. This applies for both the design of the questionnaire and the way results are reported. 260 drivers were interviewed, and the majority were Romanian (68 percent). Bulgarians accounted for 23 percent while 10 percent were either Macedonian or had both Macedonian and Bulgarian passports. In addition to the results of the survey, the report contains a chapter on winter driving and safety and one a chapter using official statistics to look at the development of Romanian and Bulgarian transport across the border.
