Sammendrag

A winter-opened road over Strynefjellet will be very important for the business community in Eiksund-Kvivsregionen. This is a large region with heavy national industrial milieus that have National Road 15 over Strynefjellet as the shortest route to the Oslo region, but who cannot utilize this due to winter closure and the road's poor technical standard. An improvement of NR15 will also have other positive effects locally, such as larger labour markets, saved travel time, improved service and trade and improved conditions for year-round operation for tourism. However, since the development is in a sparsely populated area with a small business sector, these local effects will be small in absolute terms.
