TØI has been commissioned to prepare a report on land use impact on modal split and volume of transport. The report contains six chapters that briefly describes the following: recent international and Norwegian studies on the effect of land use for transportation, analysis of land use changes over time, measures to influence transport to/from developed areas, possibilities for control of land use and transportation planning in the new Planning and Building Act, if the provisions for parking should be included in the National Policy Guidelines for coordinated land use and transportation planning, and ultimately, the key aspects of recent international research on land use and transportation.
