The present projection of freight transport in Norway is prepared to the Ministry's work with the National Transport Plan 2018 to 2029. The projections have been updated from what was assumed for the National Transport Agencies work on the draft plan, and are based on Statistics Norway's population projections from the summer of 2016 and macroeconomic growth trajectories from Perspektivmeldingen 2017 compiled by the Ministry of Finance with DEMEC, a macroeconomic model for Norway. Growth paths are regionalized by PINGO, a spatial computable general equilibrium model, while transport distribution is calculated by the National Freight Model for Norway.
