Sammendrag

We have identified drivers and barriers when it comes to how employers promote sustainable transportation on work trips. Drivers and barriers are classified into four categories, internal drivers, external drivers, internal barriers and external barriers. Internal drivers are for instance demand from employees to promote more sustainable transport, as well as having “key persons” being able to implement measures. External drivers can be green public procurement, environmental management systems and general trends of urbanization. Internal barriers, on the other hand, can be lack of common guidelines and policies within (public) organizations, costs, lack of acceptance and in general having a high “car demand”. Factors as lacking sufficient good public transport services and long commutes are identified as external barriers.
