More workplaces have been established outside the city center compared to areas within the city center since 2009. Residential areas are also less concentered towards the city center than workplaces. There are large differences between Norwegian cities regarding the potential for using public transport on work travels. For a vast majority it is far faster to travel by car. Density, distance to city center and parking availability influence to a large degree mode choice.
