Sammendrag

A before-and-after study is under way concerning the Bergen Light Rail service, which opened in 2010. The ex ante part will establish a foundation for the ex post assessment. 21 per cent of the labour force participants in Bergen live less than one km away from the light rail stations south of Bergen (along the rail line towards the airport). 17 percent of the commuters in Bergen will, theoretically, be able to go by light rail. A minority (35 per cent) of residents in the southern Bergen light rail corridor state that the introduction of light rail will mean better public transport services. They expect to travel more by public transport (27 per cent) and visit downtown Bergen more often (18 per cent).
