We have employed a newly developed Norwegian SCGE -model to study the wider economic impacts of a ferry-free E39 between Kristiansand and Trondheim. The results indicate quite substantial indirect rippling effects of reduced freight transport costs, also benefitting regions not directly affected by the infrastructure investment. However, we find no wider economic impacts of changes in commuting.
