Sammendrag

It can be challenging for persons with disabilities to navigate in different systems for information and wayfinding when using public transport. The interchange areas we investigated have no coordination between the systems for buses and trains. Visually impaired people experience the greatest challenges compared to people with other disabilities. The information and wayfinding systems are not designed as a comprehensive system, and the measures targeting specific groups of disabled are randomly located at the interchange area. The physical design ensures accessibility for all on both of the investigated interchange areas. However, we experienced that advertising signs and garbage cans prevented the well-functioning of the physical design.
