Domestic passenger travels in Norway increased by 10.1 per cent from 2021 to 2022. Compared to 2019, domestic passenger travels were 2.3 per cent lower in 2022. The increase in passenger transport volumes from 2021 to 2022 was highest for public transport, with 42.7 per cent, but was still lower compared to 2019. Road transport by passenger cars increased by 4.7 per cent from 2021 to 2022 and was only 0.5 per cent lower in 2022 compared to 2019. Domestic freight transport, including cabotage, increased by 6.9 per cent from 2021 to 2022. Compared to 2019 the growth was 8.4 per cent. The amount of tonne kilometres transported by road increased by 8.7 per cent, fright transported by sea by 5.3 per cent, and by train 2 per cent. Estimated fright transport, excluding cabotage, increased by 6.5 per cent from 2021 to 2022.
