Domestic passenger travel in Norway increased by 0.9 per cent in 2016. The growth in passenger transport volume was highest for rail transport, with 4.8 per cent. Road traffic rose by 0.6 per cent. Domestic freight transport, including cabotage, decreased by 0.3 per cent in total in 2016. The amount of tonne-kilometres transported by rail increased by 7.8 per cent, while other freight transport modes showed a decrease. Estimated excluding cabotage freight, the freight transport work increased by 0.9 percent from 2015.
