Transport sector innovation and societal changes

There are many new technologies which have the potential to radically influence society and the transport sector. This report study how society is affected by different trends and innovations that in some way is related to the transport system. The report conclude by pointing towards the combination of increased environmental concern and digitalization as particularly interesting as a combination that can result in radical change. Other innovations and trends may be expected to change the level of demand and the distribution between modes to a greater extent, but within the existing sociotechnical regime, not as a “de-alignment and re-alignment” transition path.
