Sammendrag

A literature review, aiming at deeper knowledge regarding why many disabled people choose not to use public transport, was conducted. As non-users will have a different perception of challenges and opportunities than users, our search for literature focused especially on non-users. Our findings indicate that there is little research conducted with this focus – after thorough literature searches, only one relevant study was found. This study concludes that expectations about physical barriers and cognitive barriers, related to information, orientation, etc., is a triggering factors why non-users do not use public transport. Our main finding is nevertheless that more research is necessary if we are to understand why non-users do not use public transport.
