Sammendrag

This paper discusses how higher oil prices influence the cost efficiency of climate emission abatement. This is done on the basis of a cost efficiency analysis by the Norwegian Pollution Control Authority (SFT) from 2005. Use of CO2 for enhanced oil recovery, technical measures on vehicles and electrification of the offshore oil installations are the most important measures that are sensitive to changes in oil prices. For abatement measures within stationary energy supply and transportation, a presumed higher oil price will further increase cost efficiency. This report is available only in electronic version.
