This report presents preliminary results from the 2009 Norwegian Air Travel Survey. The report covers the period January to April, and includes all domestic (excl. traffic between STOL airports) and international scheduled flights. Results show that 56 percent of domestic trips and 42 percent of international trips were undertaken for business purposes. SAS is the major operator, although Norwegian is gaining market shares and has acquired 25 percent of the international market and 34 percent of domestic trips. In total, 36 percent of all international trips were made by a low cost carrier, up from 21 percent in 2005. Amsterdam has surpassed Copenhagen as the largest transfer airport. 25 percent of transfer passengers change flight at Schipol and 23 percent at Kastrup (down from 33 percent in 2005).
