Sammendrag

Based on a quantitative segmentation model of travellers, four different personas are elaborated. Based on the personas, three ideas for mobile applications that may help to strengthen the interest for public are proposed. A subsequent qualitative evaluation of the concepts suggests that they all have a considerable potential for succeeding in the market. The evaluation also found that the travel habits had significantly changed along with a growing consumption of digital products on the journey. Consumption of digital content varied largely according to travel types, but also by the shifting context. In general travellers were most concerned with how mobile technologies could be used to make the journey more interesting and relaxing.
