Impact assessment for development of Torggata 5 in Askim

We have analyzed likely impacts of the development in ‘Torggata 5’ on five different criteria. Important conclusions are that a central location with short distances to destinations, contributes to more walking and cycling among residents in their daily travels. Residents in Torggata 5 can be expected to have lower average vehicle kilometers (vkm) per person compared to other residents in the municipality, as well as being less car dependent. The development will also contribute to a more vibrant city centre, both by increasing the customer base in the immediate vicinity and because residents are likely to travel through the city centre on foot or by bicycle in connection with daily activities.
