How a good interchange should be designed, varies with location, the transit system itself and the needs of various user groups. Although there is no one right way to design good interchanges, one can reduce the inconvenience by facilitating the design of the interchange in ways making it better for different groups of travelers, and for operators. This must be based on extended transit networks, contributing to efficient access to and from a variety of end points. Further, fast and reliable levels of service, as well as good coverage is important.
In our survey, we found that high punctuality and total time spent travelling are the most important explanatory factors for whether passengers are satisfied with their journey or not.
