Sammendrag

This report investigates individual foreign tourists' experiences of tranquillity and noise in Norwegian winter landscapes. Some 70% of the foreign holidaymakers emphasised the experience of tranquillity, while a similar proportion thought that noise from motorised traffic in natural environments is annoying. Only 2% of the foreign holidaymakers had driven a snow scooter during their visit. The study is based on available data from the Norwegian Foreign Visitor Survey, conducted by the Institute of Transport Economics.
