This report presents the main results of an expenditure study of foreign holidaymakers in Norway in the summer season (May–September) of 2002. The data employed were derived from the Norwegian Foreign Visitor Survey, conducted by the Institute of Transport Economics. This exit survey includes the registration of and interviews with visitors as they depart from Norway. One part involves statistics for and a survey of foreign holidaymakers staying overnight in Norway. In the summer of 2002, the total sample size was 3 414. The average expenditure was about NOK 760 per guest-night.
