About three million foreigners visitors left Norway by road or ferry in 1997. About two million of these visitors stayed overnight in the country, and about one million were day visitors. Nine of ten visitors went on a holiday trip, and one in ten were on a business trip to Norway. The reports describes the distribution of this traffic in further detail, and the data are also presented separately for the winter, summer and autumn seasons.
