Around 2.8 million holidaymakers visited Norway by road or ferry in 1996, including day trippers and cruise passengers. This represents a total overnight stay volume of 13.4 million guest nights, a decrease of six per cent from 1995. Germany is still the dominant foreign market for the Norwegian tourist industry. In the report, the evaluation of the environmental standard of the tourist products and price level in Norway is analysed among motor tourists who visit Norway in the summer season. In addition, these tourists’ expressed product interests are discussed.
