Sammendrag

The report presents results from emission measurements of passenger cars with GDI engines. The report confirms that petrol cars release more CO2 than diesel cars, with petrol cars emitting an average of 13.3 % more CO2 per kilogram of vehicle at +23 °C. While the level of CO2-emissions of petrol cars is closing in on that of diesel cars, the improvement comes at a price: With cold starts at low temperatures, cars with GDI-engines release more particulate matter than diesel cars with particle filters. Some cars with GDI-engines show relatively high emissions of NOx, but the emissions are still significantly lower than from modern diesel cars.
