In this report, we present an evaluation of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's campaign "Takk for oppmerksomheten (Thank you for your attention)", which was conducted between 2018 and 2021. We used four different data collection methods to track the development of inattentive driving among Norwegian drivers. Our findings are complex. For self-reported secondary activity, we find a weak but significant decrease in distracted driving. From more objective data sources, we find no change or a slight increase. It also appears that the type of secondary activity has changed somewhat, for example, mobile phones are used less for calls in 2022 than in 2018, but more for other things like navigation and music. The reported changes demonstrate the strength of method triangulation. Interpretation, consequences, and opportunities for future research are discussed.
