Evaluation of a new route scheme, Drammen

Buskerud county council and Drammen og Omegn Busslinjer a.s (DOB) have suggested a new route scheme in Drammen. The suggestion includes a simplification of the bus route system. As a result, some main routes will have higher frequency while other less trafficated routes get lower frequency and smaller buses will be set into operation. This report presents an analysis of the consequences of the new system. The assessments are based on ticket sales, travel data, passengers’ valuation of various standard factors and the costs of the new route scheme. The results indicate that the calculated benefit exceeds the costs for most of the bus system
