Sammendrag

The Business Sector’s NOx Fund works to reduce national NOx emissions, and is considering to provide support for measures aiming to reduce NOx-emission from trucking. The Institute of Transport Economics has conducted an analysis of how the expected transport growth and renewing of the fleet will affect NOx emissions based on the 1) current replacement rate and 2) a forced replacement of the fleet. The analysis indicates that forced replacement by respectively 1,000 and 3,000 trucks annually can contribute to a reduction in national NOx emissions from heavy goods vehicles, by respectively 6 % and 19 % in total for the period 2015 to 2023. This will in addition to the expected reduction from a natural replacement of the fleet.
