The report estimates total tourist consumption in Østfold county of Norway at 2.15 billion NOK in 2009 (vat included). Overnight visitors in commercial accommodation (hotels and camping sites) spent NOK 790 millions, tourists visiting friends and relatives (including unspecified accommodation) 486 millions, second home users 389 millions, day visitors and transit travellers 347 millions, and leisure boat travellers 29 millions. The production multiplier is estimated at 1.37, implying total direct and indirect production values of 2 billion NOK (the production value in retail trade being set at one third of the sales value). Direct and indirect employment is estimated to be 2 770 jobs, which constitutes 2.1 per cent of the total employment in the county. This report also presents figures for five sub-regions within Østfold county.
