The report estimates total tourist consumption in Østfold county of Norway at 1.5 billion NOK in 2006 (vat not included), of which 442 mill NOK in accommodation and catering, 482 mill NOK in retail trade, 274 mill NOK in passenger transport and 309 mill NOK in other private services. The production multiplier is estimated at 1.37, implying total direct and indirect production values of 1.6 billion NOK (the production value in retail trade being set at one third of the sales value). Direct and indirect employment is estimated to be 2 400 jobs, which constitutes 2 per cent of the total employment in the county. Second home tourism represents nearly 50 per cent of total number of guest nights, but only 25 per cent of tourist consumption. This report also presents figures at the regional levels (five regions within Østfold county).
