The number of commercial beds in the Møre og Romsdal county of Norway is calculated at 16,900. About 4.9 million guest nights were spent in the county in 2011, of which 3.8 million were Norwegian and 1.1 million were foreign guest nights. The calculations show a total tourist consumption in Møre og Romsdal of NOK 3.3 billion, including overnight, day, through-travel and cruise visitors. Direct production effects are calculated to be about NOK 2.56 billion, while indirect effects amount to NOK 0.9 billion. Approximately 5,750 jobs within the county (five per cent of all jobs in Møre og Romsdal) are directly or indirectly related to tourism. In addition, considerable revenues are also generated in relation to existing second homes (cabins, cottages etc.) and to the construction of new ones; in all about NOK 520 million. Morever, cruise ship visitors generate local revenues of about NOK 189 million in the county.
