The number of tourist nights was calculated to be 9,9 million in Buskerud county in 2015. Total tourist expenditures by overnight-, day- and transient visitors are estimated to be NOK 6.07 billion, including sales tax. Direct production effects are estimated to be NOK 4.66 billion, and indirect effects NOK 2.10 billion. A total of 10,500 persons are estimated to be employed as a direct or indirect effect of tourist expenditures in Buskerud. That equals about nine percent of all employment in the county. The number of tourist nights has increased by 0.5 million from 2010 to 2015, by that has not resulted in any increased employment due to tourism activity. The value of direct and indirect production has increased by NOK 0.5 billion, but that is no more than the indexed price increase in the time period.
