This report contains estimations of the economic benefits of removing bottlenecks related to transportation of timber in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Based on expected timber harvesting volumes the next forty years, the economic costs related to transportation of timber are calculated given the current road classifications. The costs are compared to the costs of two alternative scenarios; one where it is permitted to transport timber on trucks with 3-axle trailers over the entire distance, and another where it is permitted to transport timber on trucks with 4-axle trailers over the entire distance. The economic benefits of upgrading the road classification in accordance with the first scenario are estimated to a present value of NOK 37.4 million for the years 2022-2096. For the second scenario the economic benefits are estimated to a present value of NOK 63.6 million for the same period.
