The number of cruise tourists arriving in Norway has increased from 200 000 to nearly 700 000 the last 15 years, while number of ship calls in Norwegian ports increased from 1 200 to 1 500, and number of passengers per ship was doubled. The forecasts in this report (2014 – 2060) imply an anticipated fall in growth rates. Three scenarios are presented, with annual growth rates 0.3, 2.0 and 3.5 percent, respectively, in number of cruise tourists. International tourism forecasts from UNWTO (2030), GNP forecasts from OECD (2060) and cruise tourism forecasts from Seatrade Communications LTD (2030) provide the basis for these rates. An annual growth rate of 3.5 percent 2014-2028 and 2 percent 2028-2060 implies 2 million cruise tourists in Norway in 2060 and 3 250 ship calls.
