Closure of the Hardangervidda road during the winter – effects on tourism and industry

The report presents the expected regional impacts of a possible closure of the Hardangervidda road and the Hol-Aurland road during the winter season from January to April. In the Hardanger region west of the mountain pass it is expected increased transport costs for the industry. East of the mountain pass, in the northern part of the Hallingdal region, it is expected that the winter tourism will be reduced significantly thus reducing the turnover in the tourist industry and retail trade.
