Appraisal in integrated land use and transport planning with sustainability objectives

The PROSPECTS project, financed by the European Commission under its Fifth Framework Programme, developed guidebooks in sustainable urban land use and transport planning. The current report presents the PROSPECTS concept of urban sustainability to a Norwegian audience and explains its implications for urban transport planning and appraisal. The theoretical foundation of the approach in welfare and resource economics is emphasised.
