After-studies of the effects of the Ekeberg Tunnel 1996. Traffic Counts and Road Network Description

Authors: Jan U Hanssen
Report nr: 1055/1996
Language: Norwegian

Ekeberg/Gamle Oslo, is an urban area centrally located in Oslo. The construction of new main roads in tunnels is expected to reduce the adverse environmental impacts caused by large volumes of through traffic. Several before- and after-studies serve to describe the changes. This document describes the traffic counts in the area in 1996 and a physical description of the street network. Most of the major streets in the area have less traffic in 1996 than in 1987. Traffic and road network data are organised in a street link register which also contains coordinates for the links. This register provide the basis for calculations of noise and air pollution emmisions.
