Travel time, accessibility, parking availability and density are important factors explaining mode choice for work trips. Introducing parking charges and reduce travel time on public transport are two instruments effectively reducing car use within a short time frame. Dense land use are also effective in reducing car use in a longer perspective. Increased use of working from home has a great potential for reducing the number of commuting trips with car.
