Sammendrag

A survey of travel behaviour has been conducted among managers and employees in the Kongsberg Technology Park and the City of Kongsberg, Norway. Comparison with a travel survey in 2008 shows growth in the use of biking/walking and a reduction in car use among employees and managers at the Technology Park. The car is still the most common mode of transport for employees of the Technology Park or the city, despite high proportions of cyclists and pedestrians. The most important incentives to encourage motorists to travel by public transport are more frequent bus/train departures, shorter travel time, fewer transfers, and lower fares. Possible incentives to enhance bicycling and walking are organizational reward systems, better facilities for bikers/walkers at the workplace, and improved cycle paths.
