Domestic passenger travels in Norway increased by 1.1 percent from 2023 to 2024. Passenger transport by sea and rail increased the most, by 9.8 and 9.6 percent respectively, while air and car transport saw lower growth, with increases of 0.5 and 0.9 percent respectively. Domestic freight transport, including cabotage, decreased by 6.4 percent from 2023 to 2024. There was a 13.4 percent decline in freight transport by sea, and rail freight transport decreased by 7.2 percent. Road freight transport performance was 0.8 percent lower in 2024 than in 2023. Excluding cabotage, freight transport performance declined by 3.1 percent from 2023 to 2024.
