Domestic passenger travels in Norway increased by 2.5 percent from 2022 to 2023. Compared to 2019, domestic passenger travels were only 0.3 per cent lower in 2023. The increase in passenger transport volumes from 2022 to 2023 was highest for public transport, with an 10.1 percent increase. Road transport by passenger cars increased by 1.6 percent. Domestic freight transport, including cabotage, increased by 0.6 percent from 2022 to 2023. Fright transported by sea increased by 2.9 percent, while fright transported by train decreased by 9.4 percent. Fright transported on the roads decreased by 0.2 percent. Estimated fright transport, excluding cabotage, increased by 0.4 percent from 2022 to 2023.
