The report presents key findings from Avinor's 2023 Air Travel Survey. Data was collected from 127,000 passengers. Domestic air traffic reached 14.6 million trips in 2023, which was 93% of the 2019 level. The leisure market has recovered more post-pandemic than the business market. Work-related journeys account for 41% of domestic air traffic, compared to 43% in 2019 and 50% in 2013. Norwegians are increasingly travelling less by air within Norway. The frequency of domestic trips decreased from 2.4 trips per year in 2013 to 1.9 in 2023. Every sixth flight within Norway is made by residents from abroad. International traffic was 21.9 million trips in 2023, of which 20.4 million were scheduled flights and 1.5 million were charter flights. This was 89% of the 2019 level. For scheduled traffic, the proportion of work-related journeys was 24%, compared to 34% in 2013. 47% of the passengers were foreigners, compared to 37% in 2013.
