Sammendrag

Aviation will be included in the EU Emission Trading Scheme - EU ETS from Jan 1st 2012. According to the calculations in this report emission prices of 25-75 euro/ton CO2 will reduce CO2 emissions from flights from Norwegian airports by 20 000 - 120 000 tons in 2020 due to reduced air traffic compared to a situation with aviation outside EU ETS. In 2030 emission could be reduced by 20 000 - 35 000 tons due to reduced traffic with a price of 30 euro/ton and by 1 mill tons due to increased energy efficiency (90 % of the reduction) and traffic (10 %) with a price pf 125 euro/ton CO2. With a tax incidence of 75 % average domestic air fares will increase by maximum 3 % and average international air fares by maximum 6,1 %.
